Maestro Cacao
Maestro Cacao is a song that was born within the sacred space of a cacao ceremony, in the heart of the Costa Rican jungle.
The instrumentation features the voices of Deva Premal, Lady Phyl and the producer Joby Baker with his the 5-string arbutar, along with the lyricist and composer, Amor Reluciente (Daniel Mora), a Costa Rican musician deeply connected with the Maleku indigenous community that joins with his tali (Maleku drum) and the ocarina (clay flute)
In harmony, we bridge past, present and future, as our voices connect us, with respect and gratitude, to the land's original guardians.
We are led through the forest as if tasting life itself— the cacao, the nourishment, the sweetness and the vitality that sustains and inspires body and spirit.
In its embrace a doorway opens, inviting the ancestors, spirits, and guardians to listen, to guide, to heal, to dance and join us in sacred song.
It is a circle of reciprocity: seeds passed hand to hand become a bond that strengthens family and community through shared participation.
Maestro Cacao celebrates the natural rhythm of life, carrying a healing power. In sacred ceremony the cacao becomes more than a flavor—it is life, it is song, it is shelter.
Please join us - raise your voices and give thanks.
